How to book the Dhikala FRH
Step 1: Use the official government portal only
FRH bookings are made exclusively through corbettonline.uk.gov.in. This is the official Uttarakhand Forest Department portal. No private travel agency including jimcorbettbookings.com can book the FRH directly. We can assist with planning and coordination but the actual FRH booking is a government process.
Step 2: Check availability well in advance
Dhikala FRH is one of the most competitive bookings in the Corbett system. Availability opens a fixed number of days in advance on the portal. Slots go fast. Indian nationals should check availability at least 45 days in advance. For peak season dates (November to February) check as early as the portal allows.
Step 3: Dhikala zone must be open
FRH stays are only possible when the Dhikala zone is open. Dhikala opens 15 November and closes 15 June every year. No FRH stays are available outside this window.
Step 4: Provide accurate guest details
Same rules as regular safari permits. Full name, age and gender of every guest exactly as per government-approved ID. Aadhaar, PAN card, driving licence or passport are accepted. Passport mandatory for foreign tourists. Name mismatch means denied entry with no refund.
Step 5: Pay and download confirmation
Payment is required at the time of booking. Non-refundable once confirmed. Download your booking confirmation and keep it accessible on your phone and as a printed copy.
Step 6: Arrive at Dhangari gate on time
Entry to the Dhikala zone is through the Dhangari gate, approximately 18 to 20 km from Ramnagar. FRH guests follow the standard zone entry process. Arrive before the gate opens. No grace period.
Rules and regulations inside Dhikala zone
These apply to all FRH guests throughout the stay, not just during safari hours.
- Movement outside designated areas of the FRH compound after dark is strictly prohibited
- Stepping out of safari vehicles during drives inside the zone is strictly prohibited
