How to reach Jim Corbett
Jim Corbett National Park is located near Ramnagar in Uttarakhand. Ramnagar is the base for most Corbett visits.
From Delhi by road:
Approximately 260 km from Delhi. 5 to 6 hours by road depending on traffic and route. NH9 via Moradabad is the most commonly used route. Start early to reach Ramnagar by early afternoon on Day 1.
From Delhi by train:
Ramnagar has a railway station with direct trains from Delhi. The Ranikhet Express runs from Delhi to Ramnagar. Travel time is approximately 6 to 7 hours. Book train tickets well in advance for weekend travel.
From Haldwani:
Approximately 50 km from Ramnagar. About 1 hour by road.
From Nainital:
Approximately 65 km from Ramnagar. About 1.5 hours by road.
Day 1: Arrival, check-in and evening safari
Morning: Depart from Delhi
Leave Delhi by 7 to 8 AM to reach Ramnagar comfortably by early afternoon. If travelling by train, board the overnight or early morning train to Ramnagar.
Early afternoon: Arrive in Ramnagar
Check in to your resort by 1 to 2 PM. Freshen up and have lunch. MAP meal plans (breakfast and dinner) are included in both Deluxe and Luxury packages. Lunch is typically not included. Plan for lunch at the resort or nearby.
2:30 PM: Depart for evening safari gate
The evening jeep safari slot runs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Reach the forest gate at least 30 minutes before your slot. Your resort should be within a reasonable distance of the gate depending on your zone.
Carry your e-permit and the same ID submitted at the time of booking for every guest in the jeep. The gate does not wait.
7:00 PM: Return from safari
Return to resort. Freshen up and wind down.
Dinner at resort
Dinner is included in the MAP meal plan.
Note: If you’re arriving late on Day 1 and cannot make the evening slot, your 1 included safari can alternatively be taken on the morning of Day 2.
Day 2: morning safari option and departure
